2024 Baltimore Ravens mock draft: Building a more complete team (2024)

The Baltimore Ravens finished last season with a 13-4 record. They ranked fourth in points scored and boasted the best scoring defense in the NFL. Lamar Jackson won his second career MVP award.

This did not translate to a Super Bowl run. Baltimore fell to the eventual champion Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game with Jackson himself putting up a poor peformance.

The postseason failure has general manager Eric DeCosta somewhat under a microscope heading into the 2024 NFL Draft. There are needs on both sides of the ball. Flush with nine picks, there is also an opportunity for DeCosta to continue acing the annual event.

First round, 30th pick: Adonai Mitchell, wide receiver, Texas

Baltimore lost Odell Beckham Jr. and Devin Duvernay in NFL free agency. Despite some offseason drama, last year’s first-round pick Zay Flowers will be the focal point on offense. Outside of that, there is not much to write home about here. Rashod Bateman struggled after an injury-plagued 2022 campaign. The short of it is obvious. Baltimore needs more wide receiver help for Jackson.

The 6-foot-2 Mitchell would provide that in a big way. He’d also be a perfect fit as a bigger-bodied target opposite the smallish Flowers. Mitchell is seen as quick off the line and can provide an immediate throwing window. He also has an absolutely huge catch radius. “If he can play every game like he played the Alabama game, he’ll be one the best receivers in the league. They have first-round corners and he gave them problems,” AFC scouting director told NFL.com pre-draft.

Second round, 62nd pick: Adisa Isaac, EDGE, Penn State

These Ravens led the NFL with 60 sacks a season ago. On the surface, utilizing a second-round pick in our latest Ravens mock draft doesn’t seem to make a ton of sense. That’s just on the surface. There is certainly a need here. Jadeveon Clowney (9.5 sacks) signed with the Carolina Panthers in NFL free agency. Odafe Oweh just has not lived up to expectations (13 sacks in three seasons).

The 6-foot-4 Isaac could provide immediate help as a situational pass rusher. He has impressed during the pre-draft process and was super productive in his final two seasons with the Nittany Lions (27 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks). This would be a value selection at a need position.

Third round, 93rd overall: Renardo Green, cornerback, Florida State

The 6-foot Green is a pure press corner, making him an absolutely perfect fit in Baltimore’s defense. His performance against likely first-round picks Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas of LSU also stands out big time. He’s physical and boasts enough athleticism to handle the shiftier wide receivers.

Baltimore needs to invest in this position moving forward. Sure, Marlon Humphrey remains one of the better corners in the game. But he’s shown some signs of slowing down. There also isn’t much more outside of Brandon Stephens on the Ravens’ depth chart behind Humphrey.

Fourth round, 113th overall: Brandon Coleman, guard, Texas Christian

DeCosta has done a fine job investing in the trenches during his time as the Ravens’ general manager. That must continue with depth as an issue following NFL free agency. Right now, Andrew Vorhees would be starting at left guard without much behind him. In Coleman, the Ravens would be getting someone who started all 15 games a season ago. That includes 11 at left tackle and four at guard. The idea would be to move him inside full-time.

Fourth round, 130th overall: MarShawn Lloyd, running back, USC

The signing of Derrick Henry is a nice short-term fix for Baltimore. But at 30 years old, he’s not the long-term solution. Exhausting a mid-round pick at this position could be useful both short-term and long-term. Lloyd is certainly an under-the-radar prospect. He recorded 1,052 total yards and nine touchdowns at a clip of 8.2 yards per touch for USC a season ago.
